Huge petrochemical complexes where a minor shutdown can mean very high costs have found knock down access towers and scaffolds an absolute necessity during annual shutdown. Working inside cracker furnaces or boilers where manholes are generally small; providing safe access and working platform resulted in huge savings of down time for Reliance Industries in their various plants at Patalaganga, Hazira, Nagothane and Dahej. Similar application at GAIL as well as Chambal Fertilizers resulted in large savings for them.

In fertilizer industry these towers found use in outdoor installation of pipes, insulation and cladding of steam lines and inspection of control equipment like sensors, valves etc.
